A serious security breach has been reported at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after a UK national allegedly escaped during a transit stop. The incident happened on October 28, raising major concerns about airport security and immigration monitoring.

Foreign Passenger Flees Immigration Area

According to officials, the British citizen, identified as Fitz Patrick, was being deported to London via Bangkok and landed in Delhi for a layover. While completing immigration checks, he reportedly slipped out of the immigration zone and exited the airport, bypassing security protocols.

Sources say the man managed to evade security staff and leave the premises without clearance.

Search Operation Underway

Authorities have launched a massive hunt to trace the foreign national. Multiple agencies, including the Delhi Police, Bureau of Immigration, and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), are investigating the incident.

Officials are now examining CCTV footage to track his movements and identify any security lapses that enabled the escape.

Investigation and FIR Registered

A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed, and airline personnel involved are being questioned about the incident. Authorities are also reviewing airport security procedures and immigration checks to prevent such incidents in the future.

A senior police officer confirmed, “A British national escaped the immigration area at Delhi airport and entered the city. A joint search operation is underway.”
