After the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, Chief Minister Atishi stepped down from her position. Despite this, the BJP has yet to announce the name of Delhi’s next Chief Minister. As a result, Atishi continues as the acting Chief Minister for administrative purposes. Amidst this uncertainty, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has announced a public holiday on February 12 to mark Guru Ravidas Jayanti.

Official Notification for the Holiday

The General Administration Department of Delhi issued a notification confirming that all government offices, autonomous bodies, and public sector undertakings under the Delhi Government will remain closed on Guru Ravidas Jayanti. The earlier restricted holiday scheduled for November 2024 on the same occasion has been canceled.

Schools Closed on February 12

As per the order, all government schools in Delhi will remain closed on February 12. However, departments providing essential services will continue to operate as per standard holiday protocols.
