India Clinches Historic Third Champions Trophy Title

India made history by winning the Champions Trophy for the third time, defeating New Zealand in the final on March 9. Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta congratulated captain Rohit Sharma and the team for their outstanding performance. He also acknowledged International Cricket Council (ICC) Chairman Jay Shah for organizing a successful tournament.

Sunita Williams Returns After Nine-Month Space Mission

The Assembly also honored NASA astronaut Sunita Williams for safely returning to Earth after spending nine months aboard the International Space Station. Vijender Gupta praised Williams and her fellow astronauts for their resilience during the extended mission.

NASA’s Efforts in Space Exploration Recognized

Williams, along with Nick Hague, Butch Wilmore, and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, returned aboard SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft. Their mission, initially planned for a shorter duration, faced unexpected delays. The spacecraft successfully landed off the coast of Tallahassee, Florida, marking a significant milestone for space exploration.
