A British tourist visiting India was allegedly raped in a hotel in southwest Delhi’s Mahipalpur area by a man she had met on social media. Following the attack, she was reportedly assaulted by another man in a hotel lift while seeking help.

According to Delhi Police, the woman traveled from the UK to meet the accused, whom she had been in contact with since February. The suspect allegedly assaulted her in a hotel room, after which she attempted to seek assistance at the reception. On her way, she was reportedly groped in the hotel elevator by another man.

Authorities have confirmed that two men have been arrested in connection with the incident. “A man was arrested on charges of rape, while his accomplice was taken into custody for molestation,” police said in a statement.

The investigation is ongoing, with officials reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence to support the case. The British High Commission in India has been notified, and the woman is receiving support.
