NCW Condemns Inappropriate Language by Influencers

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has strongly criticized the use of inappropriate language by social media influencers on the show India’s Got Latent. Following public outrage, the influencers, including Ranveer Allahbadia, issued an apology and assured they would be more careful with their words in the future.

NCW Calls Out Offensive Remarks

During a press statement, NCW Chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar described the language used on the show as “absolutely indecent” and unacceptable to both the public and the Commission.

“The obscene language they used in the show is absolutely unacceptable. The Commission will never tolerate such behavior. Considering its social impact, we took immediate action and issued notices,” Rahatkar stated.

Influencers Appear Before NCW and Apologize

Following the notice, Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorva Mukhija, and the show’s producers, Saurabh Bothra and Tushar Poojari, appeared before the NCW on Thursday. Legal representatives of comedian Jaspreet Singh and YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani were also present.

NCW sources revealed that Allahbadia and Mukhija were extensively questioned about their remarks. During the inquiry, they expressed regret for their words and admitted they had made a mistake.

“They apologized and assured us that they would be mindful of their words in the future. They stated that this was the first and last time they had made such a mistake,” Rahatkar added.

Supreme Court Weighs In on the Controversy

The controversy erupted after Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, made a controversial remark about parents and sex on the show, leading to multiple police complaints.

While hearing the case, the Supreme Court called his remarks “vulgar” and stated that they reflected a “dirty mind” that had brought disgrace to society. However, the court granted Allahbadia temporary protection from arrest.

Growing Accountability for Social Media Influencers

With increasing scrutiny on online content creators, the NCW’s swift intervention highlights the growing accountability of influencers in the digital space. The case serves as a reminder for public figures to be mindful of their words and actions on social platforms.
